Note:

During his initial search of the military records, David discovered that Buckam Singh had died in Canada from war-related injury and disease. In early November 2007 we visited Buckam Singh’s grave in Kitchener, Ontario. At the Spinning Wheel Film Festival in Toronto, later in November, we discovered that Sandeep Singh Brar, a Sikh historian and collector of Indian Army medals, had recently purchased a war medal belonging to Buckam Singh. Sandeep has since researched the life of Buckam Singh, created an excellent website on the life of this Canadian Sikh soldier, and founded an annual Remembrance Day ceremony at the soldier’s Kitchener gravesite.
